Category: Building a Better Banyule
Apart from delivering a wide variety of services to the Banyule community, we work on a wide range of capital projects that are Building a Better Banyule, now and into the future.
These projects range from upgrading our roads, footpath and drainage networks, to revitalising sporting facilities, playgrounds and areas of open space.
In the 2015/16 financial year we are investing $42.76 million in renewing or developing Banyule’s assets.
Highlights of the capital works program for 2015/16 include:
$25.59 million for buildings, including the building of offices for Council administration, and new community facilities, in Greensborough. This two-year project is the completion of Council’s Civic Precinct development in Greensborough, with funding coming from the sale of commercial properties in the Greensborough area.
$5.51 million in roads, streets, bridges and drainage, including reconstructions, Roads to Recovery projects, resheeting, and bicycle, footpath and public transport infrastructure improvements.
$3.7 million to improve parks and playgrounds, including upgrading play equipment, fencing, pathways and open space facilities.

The vision for Ivanhoe Community Learning Hub My vision for the Ivanhoe Community Learning Hub has spanned almost my entire time on Banyule Council and we are very close to making this a reality. The proposed community learning hub at the centre of the Ivanhoe precinct, next to Banyule’s iconic art-deco town hall in Ivanhoe, will […]

I will continue this journey by completing the redevelopment of Ivanhoe Aquatic centre (Stage 2 & 3) which will include a water play area for children aged 3 – 10. Ivanhoe Aquatic re-opened after a $6 million redevelopment which has transformed […]
