Here are a few photos from the 2015 ‘My Vote My Voice’ student public speaking program at the Parliament of Victoria.
Seventy students from ten schools attended and heard fifteen young speakers, many of them reflecting on the 20th anniversary of 4th World Conference of Women in Beijing.
The cutting of the cake by Dr Deborah Towns (League of Women Voters) and Nina Richwol (WIZO Victoria) celebrated the 70th anniversary of the founding of the League of Women Voters of Victoria on 8th August 1945.
Julia Rapke JP was first President. The League was keen to see women more fully involved in Australia’s post-war democracy, by training women to carry out the duties of public office.

Cr Jenny Mulholland seen with the students was one of the Panel who was nominated to respond to the student speakers by the Australian Local Government Women’s Association.
